Job Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Electronics Engineer to join the fastgrowing EA VisNet business within the EA Technology group. The EA VisNet business design and manufacture LV monitoring and fault restoration products along with associated data services for Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNO), supporting their transition to Net Zero. This is vital in a world becoming increasingly reliant on electricity distribution networks to power electric vehicles and enable low carbon heating solutions. The EA VisNet business is experiencing significant growth and this is an exciting time to become part of the team designing revolutionising equipment in the sector.
The successful candidate will join an already established development team consisting of electrical and electronic, software and firmware engineers with supporting Data Analytics and Data Systems teams, using cutting edge technology to innovate and push the boundaries of how EA Technology’s products can bring benefit to all users of electricity networks in the UK and beyond.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced and proactive engineer who is looking to be a part of a growing team with shared responsibilities over the product and deployments. Attention to quality and a desire to continuously improve quality and process efficiency is integral to this role given the ever-growing deployment scale of the product. Along with possessing excellent technical skills, the successful candidate must also have a proven track record of the full product lifecycle, taking products through from specification to manufacture, certification and deployment.
Overview of Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for detailed design, analysis, validation and verification of electronic elements of products
• Ensuring compliance of products to latest regulatory requirements, e.g. EMC, LVD, CE, UKCA
• Leading the full lifecycle development of electronic elements of product development, involving analogue and digital electronics
• Producing technical documentation as well as working with internal Delivery team and external sub-contractors to enable continued delivery of high quality product.
Essential skills and experience:
• Previous experience of Professional Electronic Engineering
• Excellent communication, and presentation skills
• Track history of designing products to meet latest regulatory requirements including supporting technical documentation
• Proven track history of electronic design and specification through to implementation and manufacturing · Experience working to quality standards
• Full responsibility and ownership of projects & tasks
• Able to be flexible and determine changing priorities
• Experience of leading a team of engineers on a project
Desirable Skills & Experience:
• Self-motivated and capable of learning new technologies
• Chartered Engineer or progress towards this status
• Experience of managing projects would be beneficial
• Experience of firmware development using C and C++
• Experience of using Python to write test scripts
• Awareness of electricity industry or control room applications would be advantageous.
