You will be working closely with a great group of people with many years’ industry experience who are supportive, collaborative and very inclusive.


Job purpose:
To analyse Partial Discharge data collected by EA products in the field, then embed that insight in instruments and services. To lead and develop new Partial Discharge detection and analysis techniques with the overall objective of making electricity systems more resilient and accessible at low cost.

About the role:
• To develop software/firmware or processes to analyse phenomena captured by instruments (Partial Discharge) to further develop automated classification and location of PD
• To further enhance our offering by combining PD data with wider asset information to provide a holistic view of asset health.
• Understand electricity network topologies, causes of partial discharge, limitations of sensors and how these impact the resulting data captured
• Understanding drivers for our customers, to identify how to best develop services that meet their needs
• Frequently work and collaborate with experts in other parts of the business on specific projects


What we’ll need from you:
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM subject
• Masters or PhD or further learning in Data science or related fields would be desirable
• Capable of writing applications in python, ideally including experience with Pandas, SciPy and Numpy
• C++, an understanding of how electrical networks are designed and operated and an understanding of signalling processing techniques (FFT, Wavelet analysis etc.) would be desirable but not essential
• Use of machine learning for anomaly detection and prediction purposes
• Competent in use of Microsoft Office (for report writing etc)
• Be innovative and organised

• £45,000 - £55,000 DOE per annum
